What has been up with this weather lately? 80 degrees for almost the entirety of March, when it should be… well, it should be nicer than previous years, but certainly not above 56! (Unless you go by Celsius, in which case I can’t be bothered to find a conversion, it’s probably the difference between like 20 and 21 degrees, however that scale works I don’t know.)

In any case, I was out flying a kite this weekend. It was freakin’ delightful. Go out and take advantage of this freak occurrence, and when you do take your Summer with you and bring back my Spring!

(Does it smell like rain to anyone else? Just me?)

This week, we asked: What are you reading right now? Books, comics, etc. Readers, join in the discussion in the comments! And don’t forget to send more questions in!

Adam Griffith (@kitsunewill)
Right now I’m re-reading Night Watch, with an intention of starting a re-read of the Dresden Files books after I finish.

Alina Leigh (@LJmysticowl)
I’m reading Rex Stout’s The League of Frightened Men, the 2nd book about Nero Wolfe. Of course, I’m still in the middle of re-reading A Game of Thrones for Second Time Around. Aside from that, I can be counted on to have picked up and finished a romance novel or two at least every other weekend.

As for comics, I’ve picked up Green Lantern: New Guardians and Demon Knights after DC rebooted its universe, but I’m a couple of issues behind.

Cleolinda Jones (@cleolinda)
I’m in the middle of A Most Dangerous Method (no, have not seen the movie; yes, legit interested in turn-of-the-century psychoanalytic methods); rereading Montague Summers’ Vampires and Vampirism; just finished Ghost Hunters: William James and the Search for Scientific Proof of Life After Death.

Dayna Abel (@queenanthai)
Comics I’m reading: Batwoman, Batgirl and Buffy Season 9. ‘Course as soon as the Star Trek:TNG/Doctor Who crossover comes out I WILL BE ALL OVER THAT.

No books till I see what I get for my birthday; I’ve been wanting the latest Terry Brooks novel for a long time now.

Devin Baker (@eso_si_que)
“Real” books: I’m planning on reading The Hunger Games sometime in the next couple of weeks.

Comic books: Oh God, so many. Here are some of my favorite currently running comics in no particular order: Animal Man, Supergirl, Sweet Tooth, Batwoman, Demon Knights, The Ray, and I, Vampire. I’ve also been chipping away at volume 4 of Azumanga Daioh for months now.

Webcomics: Oh God, so many. Questionable Content is remarkable in its longevity and quality. I’m a relative convert to Girls with Slingshots. Anything Kate Beaton (@beatonna) draws is worth a look.

Evelina Burke (@Eviey)
Wuthering Heights (do not ask why! It’s a short story that ends with my banging my head against a wall). I’ve been trying to get a copy of The Tenant Of Wildfell Hall, but apparently I might as well be asking for a copy of Tim Panel’s Men Of Warrior (which I am so if you find a copy that’s priced at under $100 let me know). I’m also slowly pecking away at A Million Suns by Beth Revis and I have a copy of John Le CarrĂ©’s Tinker Taylor Soldier Spy waiting for me to read it. In comics I’ve been keeping up with Batgirl, Demon Knights, Suicide Squad, Catwoman, Red Hood And The Outlaws (I love this comic as though it were my own child… only without the neglect), Fury Of Firestorm, Teen Titans, and I’m excited like an excited thing made of excitement for Fairest to get started!

I would say, but then I’d spoil the reveals of future blog posts and Weekly Miscellanea listings.

[Spoiler: The Hunger Games]

Kevin O’Shea (@alliancesjr)
The Hunger Games, though I keep getting distracted by my shiny new RP server on Warcraft, and also Homestuck. Just… just Homestuck.

Sabra Schirm (@cue_face_palm)
I haven’t had as much time to really sit down and read novels a lot lately, but I did enjoy Marjane Satrapi’s Graphic Novel Persepolis, which I actually read for one of my classes. The last two novels I had a chance to read before that were The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and Dead in the Family, one of the Sookie Stackhouse Vampire Mysteries. I enjoyed both quite a bit, but it has been quite a few months since my reading hasn’t been concentrated to school reading and the manga I manage to fit in between writing papers.

I do try to keep up on a few manga series when I have a moment, including BLEACH (which is in its final story arc), D-Gray Man, and I recently finished up the current chapters for Axis Powers Hetalia, which is a strange but amusing read that pokes fun at every possible stereotype out there by parodying it. I am also re-reading Ouran High School Host Club, obviously.

I will probably browse the other responses for books/comic series/etc to pick up once my semester ends, but until that, I will be sticking to academic and light manga reading.

Weston Abney (@westonian)
Re-reading The Name of the Wind, but focusing on Towers of Midnight. The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass. This Age, called the Third Age by some, comes to a close. I absolutely love what Brandon Sanderson has done with the series

  1. I’ve in the middle of reading a ton of stuff. It tends to happen to me a lot. But I’m currently in the middle of reading the first book in the Scarlett Wakefield Mysteries Kiss Me, Kill Me by Lauren Henderson. It’s kinda of like a mystery/romance set at an English girls boarding school. I rediscovered them while rooting though my book bin.

Comics? None at the moment unfortunately. I had been reading a number of them, but my money kind of got scarce and I had to stop. I hope to resume sometime soon.
