Today I’ll be focusing on two movies. One is about a government conspiracy meant to help those in power gain more power by systematically targeting the minorities of the populace and fostering tension and fear between different racial and social demographics, the other is The Purge: Election Year.

Once again demonstrating his many skills, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson convinces me of something I’d never think of him. I completely believe that The Rock, the People’s Champ, dropper of the People’s Elbow, charismatic eyebrow raiser extraordinaire, is a complete dork who is socially awkward, has no friends, and has body image issues.
Basically he’s me, only less handsome.

With Muhammed Ali recently passing away I took the opportunity to watch Michael Mann’s biopic starring Will Smith, Ali. (You don’t have to die for me to blog about you, I swear.)

Life has a way of springing things on you without warning. Life is kinda rude like that. Such an occurrence happened recently causing my absence last week and resulting in this week being comprised only of the short and sweet reviews normally found at the bottom of my posts. Today’s movie focuses on a group of young men who exhibit absolutely zero compassion, perpetrate sickening acts of violence against people that did them no wrong, and fetishize vicious misogynistic aggressions toward women. What? No, not Internet MRAs, this movie was released in 1971, there was no internet.
