[Review] Luke Cage Episode 1×09: “DWYCK”

written by Sabra Schirm

SPOILER WARNINGS ARE IN EFFECT

In Episode 9 of Luke Cage, we see our heroes dealing with the aftermath of last episode, which is not so fun for them when said aftermath includes a Not-An-Interrogation (that is totally an interrogation), and riding around in a garbage truck like it’s a Disneyland trolley.

[Review] World Of Final Fantasy

written by Matthew Finneman

We live in an age of remakes and reboots. A world where ’80s throwbacks are slowly giving way to ’90s throwbacks. A time where cashing in on nostalgia has never been more prevalent or lucrative. A lot of these endeavors are met with eyerolls, and are often called out for being cash grabs. Fans claim imagination and inventiveness are dying. And maybe they are right. But sometimes, just sometimes…an attempt to hearken back to an earlier era, an attempt to throw caution to the wind and lol fanservice in our faces just works.

That is exactly what happened with World Of Final Fantasy.

[Review] The Flash (2014) – 1×23: “Fast Enough”

This week’s episode is a blast to the past. Grab your hoverboards and your sports almanacs, because it’s time to take a look at CW’s The Flash.

BIXBY

I think it’s fair to say that there’s probably something each of us wishes we had done differently. Or maybe it’s something you wished you had known earlier, so you could have reacted better. Or just to know, to be able to put the knowledge away and carry it with you.

It’s harder to say whether, given the chance, we would go back and change it.

How long ago was it? How much would change? Would I still be me? Would I even recognize myself from where I stand now, versus the person I might have been? How different would my life have been, and would it have been worth the changing? Would I even know what had changed?

And who’s to say, if we were given our chance, what our reaction would be? It’s hard to know that until you’re in the hot seat.

Spoilers under the cut.

[Review] Legends of Tomorrow Episode 2×08: “The Chicago Way”

written by Kate Danvers

SPOILER WARNINGS ARE IN EFFECT

Fresh off defending the Earth against an invasion, the Legends travel to 1920s Chicago to fix a time aberration. This is going to be about as historically accurate as that old Bugs Bunny cartoon “The Unmentionables”, isn’t it?

[Review] The Flash (2014) – 1×22: “Rogue Air”

This week’s episode absolutely gave us chills. Put your seat backs up and your tray tables in their full upright position, because it’s time to take a look at CW’s The Flash.

KEVIN

Home stretch, my friends. We’re almost at the end of Season One, and while there are quite a few plot threads that need to be resolved, this week’s episode does a great deal towards that end. It has action, it has intrigue, and it has our favorite lounging snow leopard hamming it up the way that only Leonard Snart can.

Despite how packed the episode is, however, it doesn’t feel forced. At least, to me, it doesn’t. It’s a natural progression from A to B to C, and the pacing is phenomenal.

Hold onto your butts.

Though this episode is old, spoiler warnings are in full effect after the cut.

[Review] Arrow Episode 5×08: “Invasion! Part Two”

written by Brandon Moore

SPOILER WARNINGS ARE IN EFFECT

Wait what? We’re reviewing Arrow this week? But nobody here cares enough about that wannabe Batman to…ohhhhhh, it’s a crossover episode? That explains it.

This week on Arrow, aliens are invading. A group of ninjas, scientists, vigilantes, and a borderline god(dess) have come together to fight the threat. Somehow Oliver Queen still manages to make it all about him.
